Bright Stars is situated in a large, spacious detached premises in Portadown, with plenty of room for children to play, explore and learn. We also have convenient off-road parking, helping to make drop-offs and collections as easy as possible for families.
We are proud to be a graduate-led nursery, with qualifications specifically focused on the care, development and education of young children, including a BA in Early Childhood Studies from Stranmillis University College.
At the heart of Bright Stars is a local family with more than 30 years of experience working within the childcare and education sector. Caring for children is something we genuinely love, and we bring that experience, knowledge and dedication into the nursery every day.
Our aim is to give every child a happy, nurturing and enriching start, while giving parents the reassurance that their little one is being cared for in a safe and welcoming environment.
Staff
Our friendly and approachable team is made up of experienced childcare professionals who are committed to providing the highest standard of care for every child.
All members of our childcare team hold a minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education and undertake ongoing training to continually develop their knowledge and skills.
Our staff are trained in essential areas including First Aid, Child Protection and supporting children’s behaviour and emotional development.
Above all, our team is dedicated to creating a warm, safe and nurturing environment where children feel happy, secure and valued.
Security
The safety and security of the children in our care is extremely important to us.
Our nursery has a secure keypad entry system controlling access to both the front and rear doors, helping to ensure that only authorised individuals can enter the premises.
We also have monitored CCTV throughout the nursery to provide an additional level of security and reassurance for families.
All members of staff receive training in fire safety and risk assessment procedures, helping us to maintain a safe and secure environment for children, families and staff at all times.
Professionalism
At Bright Stars, we are committed to maintaining high standards of care, professionalism and practice throughout our nursery.
Bright Stars is registered with and inspected by the Southern Health and Social Care Trust, and we work closely with other relevant early years professionals to ensure that the care we provide meets the required standards.
Our staff regularly observe and assess each child’s development, using these observations to plan meaningful activities and experiences that support their individual learning, interests and progress.
Our nursery premises, policies and procedures are also subject to regular checks and inspections by relevant professionals and authorities, including Environmental Health and Fire Safety.
We are continually reviewing and developing our practice to ensure Bright Stars remains a safe, professional and nurturing environment for every child in our care.

We open for your convenience from 7-30am.
We offer school pick ups for those who need it.
We have a very successful settling in policy and parents are most welcome to phone at any time to check on progress.

At Bright Stars we have a fully qualified approved Chef.
All food is fresh and cooked on the premises in our 5 star kitchen.
We cater for all dietary requirements.
